Add New Question
-
Question
How do I draw the mane on a horse?
Draw curved lines to create the effect of overlapping hairs and press harder on the pencil for some of these to shade in.
-
Question
How do I draw horse hooves?
First, draw a rectangle with soft corners. Then, add a slant to the front and color it in.
-
Question
Can you give me some tips on how to do the body?
Do a slight downward curve for the back (that's the spine), and add muscles to the legs. Make sure the belly is round.
-
Question
Do the lines overlap?
Yes, but you erase them once you're finished, keeping just the outline in the general shape.
-
Question
How do I draw a shadow?
Draw an exact replica of the outline of the object, but make it so the shadow is pointing the right way when you consider the lighting. Lighting can affect the length and direction of the shadow.
-
Question
How do I draw the face correctly?
Follow the steps above for the face specifically. If you struggle with these instructions, you could try finding something round to trace for the circles, like a cup. Once you have your circles, you just need to connect them with lines, which can be done using a ruler.
-
Question
How do I pick a color for my drawn horse?
It's up to you. You can look up some pictures of real horses and see which one you like best. If you don't want to be realistic, then you can just use whatever color you like.
-
Question
How do I get a circle to be the right shape?
It's just a matter of eye training. Just keep practicing.
-
Question
How do I draw a basket ball with faces on it?
That is not part of this step by step! Search for that step by step separately.
-
Question
How do I shade the horse?
Use a photo of a horse fro reference and pay attention to the way the light hits the body.
